NTU Convocation for EEE Batch of 2009.

This marks the end of my undergraduate life in NTU. It’s not a very sentimental event for me but it is a formality – an official ‘goodbye’ and an official way of telling you that you’ve did well and can now work your ass off in the job market.

Sidetrack: it’s been very long time since I was able to upload any pictures to my blog.
Just got my Internet connection last night!

My convocation session starts at 2pm and the list of students attending it are people with surnames that begins with N – Z. My mum, dad and my 2nd sister came together the attend the event.

The ceremony wasn’t as long as I thought it would be. Speeches were relatively short. There were also performances in between the award ceremony. Right after the ceremony was high tea at Nanyang Audi. Surprisingly, I didn’t feel like eating. I still remember when it was my sister’s and senior’s graduation, I enjoyed myself during the high tea. Now, haha.. Don’t really know why either.

It wasn’t as hyped up as it was during my sister’s time. Couldn’t find most of my friends and we weren’t very rowdy as well. But still took a few pictures with the people who are still there.

Results just came out not more than an hour ago.

It turns out to be pretty good! Better than expected. I was probably being quite a pessimist before that..

But in short, I can now safely graduate from NTU and start my life as an working adult mid of July.

Hope all goes well then..

I’ve finished my exams yesterday afternoon~! Woohoo!!

This means that no more studying for exam for my entire life; no more exam stress!
No longer worrying if you’re able to get an A or the likelihood of getting Cs if I do any huge mistakes…

But I’m still left with my FYP. There’s still project demonstration scheduled next Tuesday and an oral presentation the following Tuesday.
I also have to give my supervisor a presentation again next Monday.

Oh well, if I do averagely good for my papers (an average of B+ for all of them), I can afford to get a C+ for my FYP to sustain my honours.
It will just be at the border line. hahah

But I wish I can just go home now, leave NTU and leave all the work here in SG.
Isn’t after examinations a time to celebrate one’s “freedom”?
*sigh*.. How come I don’t have that strong-of-that-feeling now.

I’ve submitted the final draft of my Final Year Report!
Now, half the battle is complete…

Left with the finalized version of my report, a project demonstration, and an oral presentation. It’ll be ending soon… =D

Sometimes, I ponder if I’ve made a right decision in choosing my FYP. The things that I’m working on my FYP now is totally unrelated to what I’m studying nor what I’m going to do in the future. What I’m doing now is based on signal processing; fourier transforms, convolution, stuff like that. What I’m studying or is going to work in the future is based on the Internet, Web stuff, programming languages… I can’t use my FYP for my interviews nor can I use it for my curriculum vitae!

The initial reason I chose my FYP was because of ‘interest’ and diversification. Since I’m interested in photography and the thing I’m doing is related to image processing, I thought it’ll be fun. And I’ll be studying the same thing and work the same thing for the next donkey years… I thought for the last time, I’d work on something different. hahah.. Shouldn’t be too adventurous at that time..

Oh well, we’ll see where it takes me now…
