Celebrated the last day of 2009 in SG by having a year-end celebration in my company after working during the morning hours. Yvonne stayed over last night cause there was a football match and she didn’t have to work on NYE. When I reached home after lunch, everyone was busy with their own affairs – Yin Sin’s watching show, Yvonne’s playing Nancy Drew, Jit-Vern and Chee Lim on their comp, Ian’s out with his girlfriend, Yee Weng still not back from work.

Spent the afternoon playing Warcraft with Jit-Vern. Us housemates finally found a game where all four of us can play, even Ian. For dinner, we met up with Ian and Mel at Aston’s Specialties in Suntec. It’s food is good and the price is reasonable. We went there early to beat the crowd at about 6pm. My last meal in 2009 – A medium-rare steak

When we finished our dinner, it was just like 730-745pm. It was still damn early. Initially, the plan was to meet at Marina Barrage with Chee Lim after dinner but well, after dinner was still too early. Ian accompanied Melanie back first while the remaining 4 of us just walked about Suntec Area. We walked around Millennia Walk cause some haven’t been there before…

After what seems like point-less walking, we decided to follow Yvonne back to Kembangan. She needed to pack her stuff for another round of camping at our place. We err.. watched Godzilla on Channel 5. Hahaha… We really didn’t know what to do… Actually, we had a few choices –

  • (1) to be in a crowd to enjoy the NYE’s atmosphere at Marina Barrage. There we can watch fireworks, drink and all…
  • (2) to be in a non-crowded area and just spend some quality time with a small group of people.

And naturally, we chose the most logical thing to do – option 2. *smirk*. Of course Chee Lim wasn’t very happy as she’s more of a partying-kind but we all 4 (five including Ian) of us unanimously chose to stay-in without even discussing with each other.

So, we headed back to Hougang. We played our new board game, Urban Legends, bought by Yvonne to the ‘house’ for Christmas.

We had our leftover Chivas and Coke from the Xmas Party and count-down together with the TV. We can see the concert, the fireworks clearly from the TV. And best of all, no need to be crammed up like a sardine. We ended the night by watching Star Wars Ep 4 on my computer. New Year’s Eve may not sound exciting and wild, but we sure had our own kind of fun… *sigh* I wonder if this is a sign that we’re getting old.

Cheers to a better year! With good health and good wealth!

cheers!

I can’t believe it’s the last day of 2009… How fast time flies this year around… And since it’s the last day of the year, I shall make it a habit to reminisce what I’ve done/achieved over the past one year. Well, I did that for 2008 and I think it’s quite good.. Good summary for my own pleasure reading next time.. Did a lot of travelling in the period between end-of-examination and starting-work

  1. Completed my Electrical & Electronics Engineering Degree in NTU with a 2nd Class Upper Honours
  2. Went to Alor Setar and Langkawi for the first time
  3. Went to Phuket for the first time with my family
  4. Went to Jakarta and Bandung for the first time with family
  5. Went backpacking in 2 countries for 18 days – Cambodia & Vietnam (which I still have not blogged about yet and lots of experience gained there)
  6. Started work in SingTel in the Mobile VAS Planning Department (with many havoc days)
  7. Celebrated my 2-year anniversary with my darling girlfriend
  8. Shifted to a new ‘base’ in Hougang, Singapore
  9. Bought my very own desktop with my own money
  10. Built an Ipoh-community right here in Singapore with many get-together and gatherings and crazy fun times

The list is not as extensive as the previous year but can’t really think what else is there. Cause if to go into the details, have to really crack my brain and list them all out. Anyway, even in the Ipoh house, there’s so many changes… There’s a new bed-room, new 42” LCD TV, new hi-fi…. A lot of new things.

On the work-related wise, I’ve been immersed with work ever since I’ve started work and hope that 2010 will be a better year after getting more used to the environment and surroundings. Will probably make some new year resolution for me to meet later on…

I think I’m pretty mad to actually leave Malaysia and reach Singapore on the 29th and be in Malaysia again on the 30th. I went back for the sake of my FYP where I was scheduled to have a meeting with my professor. I returned to Malaysia again as there wasn’t anyone in Singapore and my 3rd sister requested us to be back for her ‘belated Christmas celebration’

You see, my 3rd sister coudln’t join us for Christmas as she has to follow her husband back to Singapore. So, she postponed the opening of her present to the eve of New Year. In fact, I’m glad I came back Malaysia; good food,  able to see the majority of my family.

Anyway, on the last day of 2008… i basically spent 70% of the time at home, 15% of the time in Rosemary’s house and 15% of the time on the road. I woke up late, had spaghetti (which was prepared by the German family) for lunch and slept the entire afternoon. Rosemary prepared steamboat at her house which was pretty good actually (apart from some food poisoning case)  and proceeded to the opening of presents!

The last few seconds of 2008, I was on the phone with my girlfriend counting down towards the new year. After that, my nieces, grace, carsten and I went and play fireworks in front of the house. Never had so much fun playing fireworks in a long time. Carsten and I basically strategized and planned the arrangements of fireworks for maximum so-called efficiency.

Although in 2008, I wasn’t in a crowded and congested area counting down to the start of a new year, it was pretty fun in a different way. I hope 2009 will be a better year.

Happy New Year everyone!!

Haven’t really thought of my new year’s resolution yet. Will think of it soon enough…

I came back to Singapore on the evening of new year’s eve to celebrate new year’s together with a few of my friends.

We had bbq dinner with booze and monopoly! By the time i reached Singapore, it was almost 6pm. So, I went back hall.. Collected my Crumpler Bag at 730pm and was at hall 9 for the bbq at 8pm.

There were lots of different food; bacon, ham, sausages, chicken wings, toufu, marshmallows, etc. It’s a cosy and warm gathering with elaine lee, zhi sin, wai seng, shaun, alson, jane and her boyfriend. (yin sin was having steamboat with her friends at hall 6) We just ate, talked, drank, watched tv and played monopoly. Well, at least.. they did..

We counted down together with a live telecast on tv from Vivocity with sprays and vodka shots with shaun as our bartender. It was fun but too bad, I didn’t stay up the entire night like that did as I had to meet someone to collect my 400D camera at noon.

ps: this is just a brief log to what happened for new year 2008. Can see more pics and probably read more from here

decided to blog after months of post-less blog… suddenly found the importance in it when i was out celebrating new year and i can’t remember how i celebrated 2006 new year… i remember there was once where we went to polo ground my group of friends.. then can see all the malay people camping in the middle of the field.. haha

But for this year.. it was rather quiet…. alot of people not around, i think… the people that i normally hang out with, like euwen and ian has their own plans. omega. delicia and yvonne in kl.. shake’s in sg… chin ping back in JB, jill back in penang…

anyway, ended up with ee lin, xing min and chun hao.. there was yew lok, jia juh and kent yuen.. but they went back early.. yee hui had family affairs and yee weng lazy to go out.. haha… then the elim ppl’s in elim church.. hmm.. that’s about where everyone else is… i think…

was at Go Oriental to catch up on things… then when it’s near midnight, we went to y2k area. Surprisingly, the atmosphere there improved. They extended the pub to the outside of the road and there’s this big big screen in the middle of the road for count down.. and there’s this super big crowd everywhere in the vicinity… oh well, it was fun though.. in a way.. haha…

but because nobody else is around, and we didn’t know where to go or what to do.. decided to call it a day off… haha… so much for the last few hours of 2006!
Hello, 2007!!
