literally.
I had a mild throat infection on Monday (due to consuming too much dark chocolates) and in the wee hours of Tuesday morning while the sun is hiding behind the Earth’s curtain, I had food poisoning!
Vomited twice and had countless of diarrhea.
I had to skip my entire Tuesday classes (which only comprise of 830-930 lecture.. haha) and slept the entire day in the room trying to recover. I barely had the energy to walk properly due to energy loss. Luckily my gf bought Glucose and some dried fruit bread for me. And my throat? It ‘miraculously’ became painless at that time
I recovered from food poisoning on Wednesday but my throat infection came back. Went to see the doctor and turns out it’s a viral infection that’ll infect me every now and then. Guess I should stay away from dark chocolates from now on. Anyhow, doctor gave me anti-inflammation medicine. It was the most horrible thing on Wednesday. Even swallowing my own saliva was a big pain in the ass throat.
Fortunately for me, I think i’ve almost fully recovered today (Thursday). My antibodies have been working over-time the past few days.. Pity them. Maybe I should treat them with Oranges (Vitamin C) and lots of water

The workings of our internal body clock appear to be directly connected to our risk of diabetes, researchers claim.
Our research demonstrates that abnormalities in the circadian rhythm may partly be causing diabetes and high blood sugar levels

I think after reading this article, I should be more aware and cautious of my sleeping habits. How does our body know that it’s morning or if it’s night? We’re photo-sensitive to the sun? What about people living in North/South poles? They don’t get 12 hours of sun.
Last time, I always wondered if we can ‘fool’ our biological clock. Make our body think that night is day and day is night. After all, we’re getting the normal 7-8 hours of sleep per day.. Just at different timing. Sleep during the day, and work during the night.
It’ll be like winter forever. Limited exposure to the sun. How about those people working according to US time? Maybe that’s why they get better pays in expense to their health… Or perhaps, merely compensating for convenience?

that Mild Fevers are actually “good for your health”?
Fever is part of our bodies’ defense mechanism. When we are fighting an infection, our body temperature rises
As our white blood cells increase in number, like an army to fight the germs, they go faster and faster attacking the germs, this causes our bodies to heat up, thus causing the fever or rise in body temperature.
A temperature of 100 to 101 degrees Farenheit is good for the body because it shows that the body is fighting the infection. However, if a fever goes too high, measures must be taken to bring the fever down a bit

I finally fell sick and resorted to get medication from NTU’s medical centre (which they charged me SGD$20.35 for a cough syrup, lozenges and flu pills).
I wasn’t having fever at that time but by the time I came back to hall and took a nap, my fever start kicking in. My gf was with me at that time and instinctively, I told her that I want to brew the trusted “herbal tea” to lower down my body temperature to which my gf objected on. Told me that fever is good… I was like “what?!” and she slowly explained to me how the immune system works while we’re having fever… haha.. I wasn’t really convinced until she showed me some articles from websites (here)

Well, not exactly hot.. I’m just heaty…
Think I’ve consumed too much chocolates (a few varieties), snacks and coffee (I even mixed chocolates into the coffee) in one day and now, my throat is killing me!! I’ve been brewing my trusted “Ah Poh Cha” which helps reduces heatiness, fever, etc.!

It’s my cure it all when I’m sick… cough, fever, sore throat. (except flu of course, there’s still no known cure for it)
If this fails, my next best friend is Fisherman’s Friend! The extra strong version.

And by any chance the bacteria is insanely strong, well.. I’ll have to resort to antibiotics then. =/ Fastest and most efficient way to kill germs; but not so good for your immune system (in general) AND your wallet.
