OMG! Time really flies. It’s exactly one month since I started working and I still feel very ‘fresh’ in my work life. Still feel very new albeit there’s many things that I’ve already learned.
But to sum up what happened in the past one month, here are a list of things that I’ve done/currently doing in my work.
In an almost chronological order:
- Met lots of new people, and new friends
- Read up on various company policies
- Write documents/paperwork on various projects
- Went to 2 night jobs where I ‘worked’ from 1am-5am
- Learned how to submit claims
- Learned how to use Microsoft Project
- Attended 19 meetings
- More or less understood/have a clear picture of how SingTel’s infrastructure works/consists of (with very little previous knowledge on cellular networking)
- Currently working on 3 different projects simultaneously
- Created a draft file of ‘task management’ for personal use to track tasks
Well, I’d say the past one month I’ve learned a lot of things. Some days are boring, some days are pretty exciting. But most importantly, I try not to bring work back home.
If there’s a lot of things to do, I’d rather stay in the office later then bringing it back to the house and do. House is supposed to be for solitude, isn’t it? Otherwise, work will keep haunting us at the back of our heads. Oh well, shall see how faithful I can keep to this ‘principle’.
