NTU Lao Jiao CNY Celebration

It’s the last day of CNY and my NTU juniors (now final year already) organized a steamboat dinner in celebration of Chap Goh Mei. Unfortunately for me, the thing was all the way back in NTU.

There were 17 of us, where most are final years staying in new hall area. Yi Chin, Ariel, Sein Chyi prepared most of the food while the rest of us waited for the food.. haha.. All the rice cookers were malfunctioning and we ‘cooked’ the steamboat food on the stove. Thanks to the cooks,

lousang One thing that we learned from experience is to label our bowls. So not to mix them up with another person’s bowls.. I did the labelling of bowls!

bowls There were lots of teasing (mainly on me), nonsensical talkings and well, the usual NTU stuff.. haha.. Felt like being a student again. Many of us there are a in pairs with the exception of some few eligible ones who refuse to go into one.

There weren’t any well-wishes. Just plain shouting and missing chopsticks.

Anyway, it was fun being part of the NTU-MSA again. Hope there’s one last one before they graduate from NTU. ;)

NTU Convocation 2009

NTU Convocation for EEE Batch of 2009.

This marks the end of my undergraduate life in NTU. It’s not a very sentimental event for me but it is a formality – an official ‘goodbye’ and an official way of telling you that you’ve did well and can now work your ass off in the job market.

Sidetrack: it’s been very long time since I was able to upload any pictures to my blog.
Just got my Internet connection last night!

My convocation session starts at 2pm and the list of students attending it are people with surnames that begins with N – Z. My mum, dad and my 2nd sister came together the attend the event.

The ceremony wasn’t as long as I thought it would be. Speeches were relatively short. There were also performances in between the award ceremony. Right after the ceremony was high tea at Nanyang Audi. Surprisingly, I didn’t feel like eating. I still remember when it was my sister’s and senior’s graduation, I enjoyed myself during the high tea. Now, haha.. Don’t really know why either.

It wasn’t as hyped up as it was during my sister’s time. Couldn’t find most of my friends and we weren’t very rowdy as well. But still took a few pictures with the people who are still there.

My last night in NTU

What s surprise! I’m having insomnia.

Despite the fact that I was packing the whole day, shifting heavy things from one place to another. I helped my girlfriend shift her stuffs during the day and had to shift my own stuff during the night, I’m even having shoulder aches now.. *needs to get a good shoulder massage*

Probably I’m anxious/excited that I’ll be going back.I always had a love/hate relationship with NTU. The studying stress; amount of assignments and projects, ECA meetings and events. I first find it rather overwhelming and stressful at first. But sooner or later, I just got used to it. I think being in NTU is like being in prison. Something I heard from the movie “shawshank redemption”.

When prison inmates first enter the walls of the prison, they first hate it. Then, they’ll get used to it. Eventually, they can’t leave without it.

I wonder what it’ll be like when one first enter the corporate world. Think will have a slight culture shock. haha..

Oh well, the life chapter of NTU has almost come to an end (will end with convocation). One thing I’ll definitely miss in NTU is their fast network and its internal file sharing capabilities. *grins*

NTU Rotaract Elections

I can’t believe I woke up at 12pm today…

Probably was too tired from Rotaract Elections the night before. It lasted from 7pm all the way till 1245am!!
Imagine….. Almost 6 hours.
But at least, the outcome was quite alright. All positions filled up!! The first time this happened over the period of my 4-years here.
Think the nominees are more ‘agressive’ this time. There are like 2-3 positions where 4 people are competing in it. Some used powerpoint presentations for their speech too!

Oh, and why was I there since I’m already in my final year? hahah.. I’m supposed to be the vote counter and the speaker for the ‘outcomes’ as I was the past Vice President for the Club.
And if you might be curious, the new President of Rotaract Club of NTU for 09/10 is Jojo Thee!

NTU Malaysian Alumni Night

I think this is one of the rare occasions where we can get to see almost everyone who have been part of the MSA family.

The people from my batch, the one and two year my seniors… Haven’t seen them like in ages.

The theme of this event was “Rhythm of the Past” and naturally, there were performances that involves cultural stuff like singing and dancing. I was involved in this event as one of the choir members who will be performing that night. In case you didn’t know, I’ve been ‘part’ of the Hall 8 Choir group since my 2nd year although I’m not from that hall. More like a voluntary thing; something fun to do that is non-academic.
We’ve been invited to perform for that night and we sung 4 songs; “Just A Single Voice”, “Ye Lai Xiang”, “The Gift” and “Malaysia Medley”

There were also a piano performance, a harmonica group performance and dance performance.

But the fun part isn’t here. It’s all the photo taking with your fellow friends.
With all the dressing up, it’s only appropriate to take a good picture of yourself right? hahaha
